Variable Height Arm for Tablets

The GCX VHM-T variable height arm is the only medical-grade support arm specifically designed for tablet-sized devices.

GCX launched its next edition of variable height arm solutions with the VHM-T arm for tablet-sized devices. This new solution provides a durable and ergonomic medical-grade mounting solution for tablets made by Apple®, Samsung®, Microsoft® and others as part of healthcare organizations’ strategies to improve patient experience.

The VHM-T is available in two main configurations – with and without an extension – and is designed to install into the ubiquitous GCX channel profile found on many GCX mounting solutions and in hospitals worldwide. The arm provides a 75mm VESA-mounting capability to accommodate both tablets with the VESA mounting pattern and those secured in a mountable enclosure, including enclosures designed and manufactured by GCX. Finally, to serve our customers globally, the VHM-T is CE marked, REACH/​RoHS compliant, and designed and manufactured under our ISO 13485 certified quality system.

Cable Management

Enables easier cleaning, provides simple access for service, and creates a professional-looking solution

  • Up to two (2) cables can be accommodated inside the arm
  • Up to 100% of cabling can be concealed
  • Covers can be readily removed and reinstalled for superior serviceability should cables need replacement or updating
  • Rotational stops at the VESA front-end, slide/​channel pivot point and midway pivot point on the extension version to prevent cable damage

Precision, Ease of Movement and Adjustability

The arm moves readily and smoothly into place at every point within its full range of motion for optimal positioning and viewing. It’s shipped with factory preset tension at every point of movement with little or no maintenance required.

  • Swivel and tilt adjustability at the front end to accommodate patient use while in bed or sitting in a chair
  • Rotation at the front-end allows portrait/​landscape tablet screen orientation – a rotation lock-out setting is provided
  • Pivot positioning at the slide/​channel interface
  • Pivot positioning at the mid-point for the version with extension
  • Designed with a parallel linkage for a consistent viewing angle throughout the vertical range of motion
  • The arm remains in position wherever it is placed without requiring counterbalance adjustment
